Hearing tests that give you clear answers

Every visit starts with understanding your hearing. Our tests are quick, comfortable and explained in plain language — so you know exactly where you stand.

Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA)

Finds the softest sound you can hear at each pitch, in each ear.

You sit comfortably with headphones on and press a button whenever you hear a beep. We play tones from low to high pitch and plot your results on an audiogram. It tells us whether you have hearing loss, how much, and what type.

Impedance Audiometry

Checks how well your eardrum and middle ear are working.

A soft probe rests at the entrance of your ear canal and gently changes the air pressure while measuring how your eardrum moves. It helps us spot fluid behind the eardrum, wax blockage, eardrum problems or stiffness of the tiny middle-ear bones.

Hearing Aid Trial

Try hearing aids in the clinic before you decide.

Based on your audiogram, we set up suitable hearing aids and let you listen to everyday sounds — conversation, TV, background noise. You compare styles and technology levels so you can choose with confidence, not guesswork.

Hearing Aid Fitting

Your hearing aids programmed to your own hearing profile.

We programme your new hearing aids to match your audiogram, check the physical fit and comfort, and fine-tune the sound while you listen. You leave knowing how to wear, clean, charge and adjust them.

Reading your audiogram

After Pure Tone Audiometry we show you a chart like this one and explain it together.

  • Left to right goes from low pitch (like a drum) to high pitch (like a bird).
  • Top to bottom goes from very soft to very loud. The lower your marks, the more hearing loss.
  • Red circles show your right ear and blue crosses your left ear.
  • The shaded “speech” area shows where everyday voices fall — marks below it mean some speech sounds are being missed.

The right ear line (circles) and left ear line (crosses) slope down at higher pitches, showing a mild to moderate high-frequency hearing loss. Where each test looks

Sound travels through three parts of the ear before it reaches the brain. Different tests check different parts of that journey.

Simplified diagram of the ear Sound enters the outer ear and ear canal, vibrates the eardrum and three tiny bones in the middle ear, then reaches the snail-shaped cochlea in the inner ear, which sends signals along the hearing nerve to the brain. Outer ear Middle ear Inner ear to brain ear canal eardrum 3 tiny bones cochlea nerve Impedance audiometry Pure tone audiometry checks the whole pathway
  • Outer ear

Collects sound and funnels it down the ear canal. Wax build-up here can muffle hearing.

  • Middle ear

The eardrum and three tiny bones turn sound into vibration. Impedance audiometry checks that this part moves freely.

  • Inner ear

The cochlea turns vibration into nerve signals. Most age-related and noise-related hearing loss happens here — hearing aids help most with this type.
